Diverse First-Person Zombie Shooting Game
Zombie Frontier 4 is the latest chapter in the Zombie Frontier series of first-person zombie shooter games. With this installment, the developers (FT Games) have created an all-out zombie battleground where the target is to shoot all zombies. The game takes you to a realistic 3D apocalypse world complete with deserted environments and drops you right in the thick of things with its first-person shooter design.
Main gameplay features the daily grind of going through event stages. All event stages vary but generally involve unlocking one area at a time by completing missions.
The quests are simple. They involve you going into specific areas (corner store, 13 Ave, subway station, etc.) and eliminating all zombie threats.
For every four sections that you clear, the game rewards you with a generous array of supplies (gold, grenades, kits, money, etc.). Every successful mission, in turn, earns you game cash.
Other than battling the undead, Zombie Frontier 4 also offers the option of connecting with other players. The game will have you find survivors, interact with some, and even compete against others.
What’s more, you will be able to gather materials, purchase survival resources, collect blueprints, forge items, and make weapon modifications.
Tons of Zombies and Ambush Scenarios
Zombie Frontier 4 is a hardcore zombie shooting war game that keeps you on your toes. During missions, you will encounter different species of the undead, including zombie dogs, tentacle zombies, mutated zombies, Lickers, Chargers, General Simmons, Roadblockers, and ‘Mother Worm’ (a combination of all zombies).
Some zombies will remain on their feet even after decapitating them, while others explode after dying. To survive, you will have to be ready at all times because you never know which zombie is hiding around the corner.
Zombie Frontier 4 also puts you in varying environments ranging from streets, subway tunnels, and caves to snowcapped and dessert regions. Likewise, game missions feature different ambush scenarios. For instance, you might find yourself in the middle of a bridge with a rifle on one quest. Another one would take place on the rooftop of a skyscraper with a sniper rifle. The game will even send you to fight zombies in the night when their senses are sharper.
Large Choice of Weapons
For a first-person zombie shooter game, Zombie Frontier 4 does not disappoint. The game offers a vast arsenal of classic weapons ranging from pistols and shotguns to rifles and submachine guns.
The weapons come in unique designs, with each featuring a skill. You can also custom-make combat firearms using your own blend of scope, silencer, gun skin, and other gun parts.
Since missions in Zombie Frontier 4 get increasingly difficult as you go, this game offers the option of cranking up the power of your weapons. To make that happen, you only need to tap on your gear and go to the upgrade page.
At the bottom of the upgrade page, you will find icons for Gunframe, Muzzle, Scope, Bullets, Buttstock, and Magazine. Tap on any of the icons to level up.
Every time you level up, you will get a corresponding power boost on your weapon’s base stats. That means the upgraded item acquires more Damage, Fire Rate, Zoom, Stability, Reload, and Magazine Size.
Zombie Frontier 4 on PC: Tips, Tricks, & Beginners Guide
• Aim to Annihilate
In Zombie Frontier 4, pumping zombie torsos with bullets or shooting off limbs does not do much except to reduce their movement to a slow stagger. Zombies will keep coming at you until you make the killer shot.
By killer shot, blowing off heads certainly does it. Some zombies, however, have other vulnerable areas like the heart or stomach. So, save yourself some bullets and go straight for the kill. With the game’s aim button, it is easy to make kill shots from near and far.
Since it is practically impossible to make multiple kill shots, fire indiscriminately, especially when ambushed by a horde of zombies. The zombies will slow down, buying you some much-needed time to go for the kill.
• Max out Upgrades Before Making a Purchase
With regular upgrades, low-tier weapons can serve you well for a decent period. So, rather than buying guns as you go, it will be cheaper and more tactically sound to focus on upgrading your starting weapons. You can make several high-value upgrades with the same amount of cash it will take you to buy a new firearm.
At the start of your adventure, Zombie Frontier 4 provides you with a free M1911 pistol. You should be able to buy another weapon after one or two rounds of play. Stick with the two guns and upgrade them regularly. After that, only go for a new one when your current pieces are all maxed out on upgrades or are no longer sufficient at taking out the zombies.
• Follow the Skulls
While fighting it out with the zombies, you will notice floating skulls appearing on your screen from time to time. These icons serve the purpose of pointing out areas where clusters of zombies are hiding or congregating. Follow the skulls to avoid getting caught off-guard.
• Always Take HP Kit to Battle
This game allows you to carry two items to battle. Your options include Grenade, HP kit, Thermal Imaging, Adrenaline, and Ammunition Box. While combos of ammunition box & grenade or adrenaline & grenade serve a better tactical advantage, the HP kit is the one thing you should always take with you to battle.
In some instances, you will come very close to finishing a mission but then run out of HP. Having the HP kit handy will enable you to restore your health when needed and see a mission to the end. The game has the HP bar ideally situated at the top left corner of the screen, where you can simultaneously fight and keep an eye on how much life you have left in a round of battle.
