Survive in a Nuclear Post-Apocalypse
X.D Global, the same developer behind the popular LifeAfter zombie survival game, has once again added another title in the post-apocalyptic genre aptly titled as Wasteland Lords, which thrusts you into the aftermath of nuclear war.
After atomic bombs wrecked the atmosphere, the last thread of civilization retreated into underground bunkers. With the world utterly destroyed, surviving factions now fight all the time for limited resources.
Do you have what it takes to keep your fallout shelter up and running? Step into this turbulent world to find out.
Build & Manage Shelter
Although it has some base-building elements, Wasteland Lords is more of a shelter survival game. You will be the commander of your base and responsible for a variety of tasks. For starters, the bunker will require rooms that serve different roles. You can construct production facilities like the energy vault, cannery, and cement plant.
Various types of barracks are available as well to set up. That is where you get to train your troops. And, after they get heart in battle, the Medical Station is where they will recuperate.
You will also be able to set up a Laboratory, Trading Post, Ordinance Workshop, Radar Station, among many other rooms that help your bunker survive in this harsh devastate environment.
The Power Hub is like the headquarters of your entire base. As you keep leveling it up, new rooms will unlock. Once constructed, you have to keep upgrading your buildings to boost performance.
Completing tasks on the base earns you rewards and resources like power, EXP, food, cement, batteries, and dynamo blocks, to name just a few.
Deploy Troops, Collect Heroes
Besides constructing your base, Wasteland Lords adds more fun to the gameplay experience by tasking you with building an army. When going into battle, you can take different kinds of troops, such as Infantry, Rocketeer, Artillery, Tank.
On the other hand, the game offers heroes that lead troops in battle or get assigned to rooms to boost performance. These characters become available once you acquire their corresponding shards after completing chapter quests.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Wasteland Lords on PC
• Follow Chapter Quests
There is so much to do in Wasteland Lords, which might make you think that playing the game is complicated. However, you don’t have to worry, thanks to the shelter command guide that suggests chapter quests on the bottom left portion of your screen.
Clicking the green button that lists chapter quests will load a list of tasks that you need to do. They can include simple things like leveling-up a particular building, training your troops, constructing a new structure, or defeating an enemy in battle. Once you complete any given tasks, don’t forget to collect your rewards.
• Learn Strategies
In Wasteland Lords, you can learn strategies on three aspects, namely war, development, and assistance. These skills can help you to improve your battle performance, get shelter bonuses, and other buffs. Therefore, make sure to activate them. You can click/tap on each strategy to check its details.
To take advantage of this feature, you need strategy points, which become available once you upgrade the shelter lord.
• Train Your Troops & Upgrade Heroes
One way to get more power and become stronger in the game is by leveling up your soldiers. Troops require batteries (acquired from chapter quests) to receive training, whereas you can level-up heroes with XP. Remember to equip the latter characters with gear and use ascend-plan items to raise their tiers.
• Join a Clan
Clans in Wasteland Lords are similar to the guilds commonly found in other base-building warfare games, whereby groups form alliances to fight other rival factions.
By joining a clan, you will gain access to a variety of benefits. For instance, this activates the teleport function, which lets you travel to nearby clan territories in an instant and join rally battles. Additionally, clan mates can donate resources, receive reinforcements, and earn alliance credits to spend in the shop.
