TMNT: Mutant Madness on PC – Download for Mac or Windows
Battle Action Idle Game with Lair Building
For three decades, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have dominated everything from comic books to the world of cartoons to the film industry. Now, you can enjoy your beloved ninja turtle heroes (and villains) in TMNT: Mutant Madness mobile game. Besides playing the game on your Android or iOS device, you can even take your experience to a bigger screen on PC, as described in this guide.
In the game, you get to form a squad of the four ninja turtle brothers, namely Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello, & Leonardo. They are joined by their allies too. You will then lead your team of heroes through the multi-verse. Here, they will be battling against Shredder, hordes of foot clan ninjas, and other classic villains.
The principal gameplay option is an Adventure Mode. It consists of automated battles that play out in progressive stages/missions. You will get to unlock more play modes, including PvP and clan battles, once you complete various game stages.
There are also building and management aspects of play in the form of a Turtle Lair. The lair building features multiple game-resource-generating rooms, which are also unlocked one at a time upon reaching various stages of play.
Automated Battle System with Manual Control Elements
Combat in TMNT: Mutant Madness takes place on a battlefield featuring five hero spots. These spread out over a set up of two circles. There is one in front of the other on either side and a solo fighter at the center. The players fight it out automatically, but you will have to tap on the character portrait at the bottom of the battle screen (when the energy bar is full) to release a super skill. Every hero has a unique Super ability along with other spectacular attacks displayed in eye-catching colorful animations.
Another way of releasing your Super skill is to direct the attack manually. For this, you first need to wait for the skill meter/energy bar of a character to fill up. After that, tap and hold the portrait of your selected hero. Next, slide your finger to the opponent you want to target or right at the center of a cluster of enemies.
Over 30 Heroes to Collect
TMNT: Mutant Madness starts you off with a couple of heroes and gives you the chance to grow your squad from a choice of over 30 character picks. You can collect these heroes by playing through the Adventure mode. A hero is unlocked at the end of each stage of play while every battle victory earns you hero bits, which you can spend to summon characters.
Like all idle style combat games, your success in battle hinges on forming a squad with characters that complement each other. In summary, the heroes fall into six classes of:
- Tank – has high HP
- Trickster – has crowd control abilities and is good at stunning the enemy
- Brawler – specializes in melee-style close combat
- Blaster – fires long-range attacks
- Support – helps other players with healing buffs & complementary skills
- Skirmisher – is a highly mobile character that unleashes both long-range and melee attacks
Character classification further breaks down into 1 to 5-star heroes, where more stars equal better skills. To learn the details of every hero character, go to the Heroes icon at the bottom of the screen, click on a character portrait, and tap on the provided roles option.
Tips & Tricks for Playing TMNT: Mutant Madness on PC
• Adjust Hero Formation Appropriately
The logical hero arrangement in this game would be to place your heavy hitters (i.e., tank & brawler characters) at the front, blaster & support heroes at the back, and the trickster & skirmisher units at the center. But since you will be facing a different set of enemies with every battle, it is best to base hero formation on the kind of fighters you will face. Add more tank heroes when facing powerful foes or bosses or include more agile characters for added firepower in a fast-paced fight.
This game includes the bonus of a pre-fight gauge at the top of the screen. It relays your potential of battle success through figures for squad power (630, 820, and so on).
Your squad power is displayed on the left side while that of the enemy appears on the right. Try out various formations using different heroes until your squad power is either higher than the enemy or reaches the highest possible numbers.
You can engineer formation changes before hitting the BATTLE button by tapping and holding on to a hero portrait at the bottom of the screen then dragging to the position you want.
• Balance out Hero Upgrades
Since enemies grow increasingly powerful with each passing battle, upgrading your heroes should be one of your management priorities. Always go for a character upgrade whenever you earn enough ooze (one of the game’s currencies) to do so.
A smart move would be to take turns in leveling up your heroes as opposed to focusing on one or two higher tier characters. Using this approach will ensure you end up with a powerful and balanced team instead of a super-strong hero surrounded by weaker players.
Another advantage of regular character upgrades is that you get to unlock more skills when your heroes get to various levels.
• Get your Lair to Run Eff iciently
Your lair in this game performs the essential task of producing various vital resources.
Firstly, this is where you get scrap material used for leveling-up rooms. Secondly, you will find ooze currency for improving your heroes in the lair. Lastly, it also provides you with hero bits for adding more talent to your roster.
These resources become available every hour. Your lair continues to produce even when you are not playing. As a result, upgrading it increases its production rate allowing you to enjoy a steady flow of resources. So, keep upgrading until all rooms reach peak performance. Key lair rooms to focus on are the Scrap Room and Ooze Refinery.
• Take on the Big Reward Challenges
At the start, you will be playing TMNT: Mutant Madness in its Adventure mode (accessed via the third icon at the bottom of the screen). When you can, though, go for the reward challenges more often. These include goals displayed at the top of the screen (Adventure 1-2, Adventure 1-3, Hero lvl 3), events, season pass quests, and online battles. These challenges will provide a significant boost to your resource coffers, allowing you to power up your heroes quickly and buy powerful heroes.
