Cat Heist Game
The Burgle Cats is a sequel to the equally feline-themed tower defense game known as The Battle Cats. In this installment, PONOS Corporation, the developer of this series, decided to give players something a little bit different. Your weirdly cute kitty ninjas take on the role of stealthy burglars. Their mission is to infiltrate manors, evade traps and capture, crack open the vault then finally escape with a treasure chest filled with loot.
It is a fun game filled with adventure and addictive gameplay. Although officially developed for Android & iOS platforms, you can still download The Burgle Cats and install it on your PC using an emulator, as explained at the end of this post.
Simple Rules Fun Gameplay
If you are always looking for simple yet challenging games, The Burgle Cats offers just that. The rules are easy to learn, even for a novice gamer.
In each mission, you guide five cat heroes through the mansion, searching for the treasure chest vault. From clattering empty cans of cat food, slippery banana peels, and icy floors to painful dropping apples, decoy vaults, and thorns, all manner of traps lie in wait along the way.
The manors in The Burgle Cats depict a series of levels that cats walk through horizontally and vertically. Jumping up and down in between floors causes noise. You also have to watch out for the guard dodges, sleepy dogs that come chasing when startled by noises. Some of them will catch pesky cats at the fake vaults.
Even if you don’t get caught, walking into a trap reduces your cat’s willpower. The same happens even as time passes by. If three of your cats get caught once your willpower bar runs empty, it is game over, so you better move with stealthy speed.
After finding the vault, you still have to escape. Finishing the levels in this game requires strategy because each door you use to enter the manor closes. That means getting out the same way you came in is not possible, forcing you to look for another escape route.
Treasure Chests Filled With Goodies
Once you get treasure chests, you will need keys to unlock them. However, if you don’t have any, the locksmith can help you to pry them open.
The treasure chests you get from burgle battles come either with traps for defending your own manor or outfits. Yes, you heard that right. The burgle cats may be animals but will not go on a heist naked because they have manners. From bow ties and crimson scarves to bandit belts and bandanas, these cat burglars have a sense of fashion too.
In the ticket heist quests, the chests you earn give you tokens to pay the Cat Hunter. He captures strays that you can recruit to join your roster of feline burglars.
Tips & Tricks for Playing the Burgle Cats on PC
• Complete Your Missions
Besides the rewards you earn for pulling off feline heists, you can also get more items by completing missions. You will see a corresponding menu from the home screen, which loads up a list of tasks for you to complete. For instance, the mission tasks could challenge you to earn a certain number of burglar points, reach the next league tier, level up your traps or equipment, and other activity milestones attained while playing the game. Once you fulfill any of the listed goals, you stand a chance to claim free cat food, tickets, chests, and other free rewards.
• Equip & Upgrades Your Outfits
As mentioned earlier, you will earn a wide variety of stylish outfits from the chests won after completing heists. The clothing items in this game are not just cosmetic. They also boost the cat’s stats such as willpower, agility, and vertical climbing speed. You can also use duplicate copies of the same outfit to upgrade them.
• Use Skill Points
As you raid any manor, your skill point meter will gradually fill up. You can monitor it on the bottom right corner of your screen. Once full, you can activate a wide range of skills, which will help the active cat burglar during the heist. Depending on which feline character you have, you can use abilities such as clairvoyance, barefoot stealth, sharp eyes, trap sensing ability, bionic hearing, artful dodging, to name just a few.
• Use the Mini-Map
Lastly, finding your way around the dungeon-like mansions in the Burglar Cats should not be difficult. You can use the mini-map tool located in the upper right corner of your screen. It is always present when playing either the burglar battle or ticket heist quests.
The map not only highlights your current location but also traps and other items already stumbled upon while looking for the vault. The information it provides can give you a good lay of the land, so use it to your advantage.
