How to play Survivor Island on PC (3 Easy Steps):
Easy to Play Survival Game
Are you tired of survival games that always seem to stack the odds against you? If so, Survivor Island could very well be the game you have been waiting for. As far as survival games go, it is quite possibly the easiest to play. The controls are very straightforward. They include buttons for moving around, picking up items, rotating, crafting tools, and attacking or engaging in laborious tasks. What’s more, tasks in this survival game are not hard to accomplish. You even do not have to build a shelter from scratch, as Alice (the lovely game guide) will lead you to a location with safe houses. That said, not everything is all rosy in Survivor Island.
The game starts with you stuck on an island all by yourself, save for the company of a very loyal dog that never leaves your side. To survive, you will have to work hard – find food, gather resources, craft weapons & tools, and even engage in dangerous activities like hunting bears for their skin and trying to take down a mad woman.
Follow the Mile Markers
Survivor Island consists of a series of missions that you will have to complete and advance in the game. You will see mission objectives at the top of the screen. Goals can be anything like Follow Alice, Check 3 Boxes, Kill 5 Goats, Break Stones, Get Animal Skin, Find Eva, etc. Every completed mission will earn you something valuable. For example, following Alice will lead you to an enclosure with already built houses that will become your camp headquarters. The boxes you check contain resources you can use to create tools. Additionally, every goat you kill provides meat, which will replenish your strength and health in the game. You also earn coins when you complete a mission.
Unlike other survival games where you will have to find your way around, Survivor Island guides you through every step. On the screen, you will always see the distance remaining to your next destination or target. The number gradually decreases as you approach a target and turns to 0 when you are standing right on top of or next to the said target. A blue arrow pointing the way appears next to the numbers when you are going in the wrong direction. As such, the gameplay in Survivor Island is more enjoyable than it is challenging.
Craft your very own Survival Tools
There is a lot you will need to survive in the island. Some of the most essential items include guns to shoot down animals, sticks to break stones, a spear for self-defense, and a torch to see at night. Since these items are not provided in the game, you have to craft them yourself. This does not actually mean sitting down and manually building things, but rather utilizing the game’s extensive crafting system. The system automatically crafts items by combining several resources (i.e. stones, gems, rope,). You simply hit the craft button (represented by a symbol of hammer & screwdriver), select the item you want to make, and the game will do the rest. However, you must have enough resources at hand. Every tool or weapon requires a certain combination of resources that you must gather while traversing the vast open world.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Survivor Island on PC
- Feed Constantly
Your character in the game has plenty of needs but getting food for sustenance is the most urgent. It provides the energy needed to keep going in the game and replenishes health when it is running low. So, always stop and pick up food even if you are in hot pursuit of an animal. Food is scattered all over the island in the form of apples and maize comb. You can also feed by killing an animal (goat or bear) and picking up the meat.
- Stay Clear of Animals & Other Combatants
Having a weapon at hand does not make you invincible. A bear can still pounce on you, knocking a gun out of your hands and kill you. So, always keep a respectable distance between yourself and the animal or combatants (e.g. zombies or the lunatic woman). Weapons like a gun and spear allow you to take shots at animals from a distance and kill them.
- Collect Daily Bonus
You get a bonus reward for every day you play in the game. Day one’s bonus is 15 bullets, day 2 -- a vest, day 3 -- 10 coins, day 4 -- an axe, and so on. Do not exit the game without collecting the day’s bonus. To do this, you must connect your device to the Internet.
- Keep Playing
The game randomly awards coins when you hit certain targets (e.g. play for 10 minutes, kill 2 enemies, and so on). So, play as often as possible. The more you play, the more rewards you get.
