Rodent Forest Adventures
The gaming publisher Avelog finally released the sequel to their hit adventure game, which depicts a rodent’s everyday life in a forest bustling with life. Titled Squirrel Simulator 2: Online, this time, the game offers real-time battles in the Royal Arena.
The new feature allows players to square off in epic fights, with power-ups scattered throughout the battlefield. Be prepared to wipe out your rivals with fireballs, lightning, and iceball freezes, all while countering their attacks with shields and healing potions.
Fans of the series can expect the same features from the original installment to make a comeback. That means you will explore the forest as a squirrel, foraging for food, water, and branches for making your nest.
Bringing food back to your hollow (the rodents treehouse) earns you coins that can purchase stronger characters or a new home. Once you build a nest, a good night’s rest will boost attack power.
Each nest has a unique trophy that you can obtain by completing the specified challenge. For instance, the first hollow offers the Crown of Excellence trophy, which unlocks a super character. However, you have to collect 30 acorns to earn it.
The Sandals of Speed lets the squirrel move amazingly fast, while the Treasure Chest trophy reduces the price for new characters. You will discover plenty of other trophies to collect with unique prizes.
Encounters with Other Animals
Granted, exploring the vast open game world in Squirrel Simulator 2: Online can be fun and thrilling. However, all kinds of animals also call the forest home. Some of them are predators like the snake, badger, and wolf. You will also have hostile encounters with other animals competing for food, such as hares, mice, and raccoons, to name just a few.
Your chances of survival when taking on other animals will largely depend on the stats, rival, and type of squirrel character you have. For instance, the best chance a Lightning squirrel has against the wolf king would be to use its supersonic speed and run away as fast as possible. Only real Knights have a chance against such formidable rivals.
You can also obtain more squirrels like the Astronaut who jumps from tree to tree, the strong Squirpire, or the great King who incapacitates with a single blow. From the Shaman, Cyborg, and Pilo to the Soldier, Squirmariner, and Bounty Hunter, there are plenty of characters to unlock as you progress through the game.
Build a Family
You can find a soul mate and get married upon reaching level 10 in Squirrel Simulator 2: Online. Take care of each other, and at level 20, the first baby squirrel will be born.
Once all grown up, you and your companion will be able to raise another offspring. As the age-old adage goes, there is strength in numbers. With time, your family can grow to become a whole army of squirrels that makes even the big, menacing wolves tremble with fear.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Squirrel Simulator: 2 Online on PC
• Monitor Hunger & Hydration Status
Running around foraging for food causes the squirrel to get dehydrated and hungry. Staying well-fed and hydrated to avoid slowing down is essential. To keep an eye on the squirrel’s condition, use the indicators on the top left corner of your screen.
When dots next to the water droplet icon drop to the last one, head over to a spring to quench your thirst. Alternatively, feeding on something will also replenish your water levels.
Also, do not forget to keep monitoring the green gauge for hunger levels. It has a percentage indicator that lets you know when to feed.
• Jump from Tree to Tree
Sometimes, you can have a hollow next to another tree that has plenty of food or coins. If it is within flying distance, jump from where your home is to it. Not only is it fun to glide through the wind, but you also get to avoid walking on the forest ground and encountering predators.
• Complete Current Quest
Each time when you head out into the forest, the game will give you a task to complete. Usually, what to do pop up on the screen quest hint section. Focus on the task at hand and keep feeding because this will allow your squirrel to level up and gain a boost in attack and health stats.
• Use the Screen Hints
When playing Squirrel Simulator 2, the screen provides plenty of interactive hints to help you know what is in your immediate surroundings. For instance, the home icon points to the general direction where the tree that houses your hollow is located. You will also see icons indicating different types of food like mushrooms, berries, acorns, and so forth. Other times, the hints display animal icons, allowing you to change direction at the slightest sign of dangerous predators.
