Run Stop Run to Win
Developed by HUAYIGAMES.INC, Squid Game is a fun running game that requires nerves of steel to play. On a long stretch with a giant doll standing in the other end, dozens of players will try to run to the finish line.
However, there is a catch. When the deadly doll, which apparently keeps rotating its neck, faces forward, a lethal red motion sensor light scans the entire running arena, incinerating anything that moves.
It is only safe to run when the doll is looking the other way. So, the game goes on as competitors run and stop before resuming to run until they ultimately get safely past the green line.
To make the challenge even more fun, Squid Game presents a variety of props that can either hinder your progress or aid you in achieving your objective. For instance, the scarecrow dummy blocks random laser bullets that the doll fires to take out runners.
You will also encounter moving walkways/conveyor platforms, rotating obstacles that behave like a revolving door, and automatic vertical lifting fences that block your path. Good judgment is what you will need to know when to go for the helpful props and to maneuver your way around those that get in the way.
Once you complete any run successfully, you win cash. The money rewards can buy two kinds of upgrades to improve your performance in the game.
For starters, you can use your winnings to improve running speed. Of course, this will come in handy if you always want to be the first one past the finish line.
Alternatively, you can boost income. With this upgrade, you will increase the amount of cash you win at the end of each level. The price of upgrades tends to fluctuate and will keep rising. Therefore, income upgrades are just as important as being able to run faster in the Squid Game.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Squid Game on PC
• Run on the Side Lanes
Whenever you get a chance, run on the far left or right. The reason for that is the red motion scanner light usually moves from one side to the other. Therefore, players on the far left or right get a head start or a brief moment to go a few steps forward even while the evil doll scans for runners on the opposite side.
Those in the middle remain illuminated by the motion sensor light the entire time. So, this means if you are in the center, you will be among the last lot to start running again and remain in the red zone the whole time while the doll faces the running field.
With this tip, you can increase your odds of finishing first. Although this does not necessarily increase your cash reward, it just feels good to beat everyone else.
• Avoid the Red Conveyor Platform
Unlike the green conveyor platform that makes you run faster, the red one slows you down. It actually moves in reverse motion. If finishing first is something you will love doing in the Squid Game, then make sure to avoid this prop like the plague.
• Don’t Get Shoved
As you play the Squid Game, there will be a lot of shoving. Everyone wants to be the first off the blocks or reaching for a protective prop like the scarecrow dummy shield. In the process, many runners tend to cram into one space. When that happens, people end up getting pushed and fall to the ground.
The problem with falling is not so much that others will get past you but rather the fact that you have no control over when your avatar will decide to get up. Often, that may happen right when the entire area is covered in the lethal motion sensor light, which will bring about your instant demise even before you get up on your feet.
• Keep Away From Motion Props When the Red Light Comes On
Finally, remember to avoid any props that will move you while trying to stay still, especially if the deadly red light is just moments away from activating. It will instantly take you out if, for example, you are inadvertently moving on a conveyor platform or when a rotating obstacle pushes you.
