Catapult to the Skies
Sling Plane 3D is a simple flight simulator game that calls to test your flying skills. In the game, you launch a plane off of a sling and control the aircraft as it flies over varying terrains of a cityscape, desert plains, and water masses.
As ridiculous as it may seem, the game is actually fun to play. The objective is to maintain flight for as long as possible before bringing your plane down to a safe landing.
Multiple Landing Strips with Different Multipliers
With Sling Plane 3D, there are no missions to complete or flight routes to travel over. Instead, the game offers an endless flying space with landing strips littered all over the ground below. You are free to bring down your plane at any point after takeoff. However, the aim is to land on one of the airstrips.
All landing strips feature multiple segments, each labeled with a specific multiplier (1X, 5X, 9X, 15X, 25X, etc.). Landing on one of the higher multipliers results in more coins at the end of a flight round.
When you miss a landing spot and crash to the ground, the game registers that round a failed flight. All the same, failed flights earn you coins, albeit much lower than what you collect after landing safely on a large multiplier.
Game Employs Simplified Flight Mechanics
Unlike typical flight simulator games where you control a plane from inside the cockpit, Sling Plane 3D maintains an overhead view of the aircraft and ground below. Therefore, that means you can enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the landscapes.
To takeoff, you first pull back the slingshot and then release it to launch the plane forward. During a flight, you only need to keep your finger pulled back on the screen to maintain a nice altitude. When ready to land, release your hold on the screen and swipe right or left to steer the plane towards a specific multiplier.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Sling Plane 3D on PC
• Takeoff Properly
When launching your plane, you should adjust the sling until the indicator turns green. In effect, this will steer the plane right through the center of the launch ramp and fly off high into the air upon leaving the ramp. Conversely, releasing the sling when the indicator is glowing yellow or red will lead the plane towards the right or left, where it will most likely crash shortly after takeoff.
• Practice A Lot
Sling Plane 3D is a challenging game, especially at the beginning of play. The slightest slip of your finger while flying can very well send your plane plummeting to the ground. And that is not even the most challenging part of the game. Getting your aircraft to take off and later land on the exact multiplier you want requires a high level of finesse that you can only master with plenty of practice. So, do not get discouraged when your first flights end in disastrous crashes. The more you play, the better you will get at steering the smooth movements that this game demands.
• Upgrade Before Every Flight
Since this game starts you off with an underpowered engine and average sling, you should opt to upgrade both on the regular. A sturdy sling will give you a great start with every flight, whereas a powerful engine makes it possible to fly further and further with each round.
Making upgrades to your income is also important, as it will help boost your earning potential.
Upgrade tabs for Engine, Sling, and Income display at the bottom of the game’s screen before takeoff. Do not bother holding onto your earnings to buy significant upgrades. Just upgrade all three slots evenly right before every flight.
• Fly Long
Sling Plane 3D is all about flying as far as you can. Not only is it exciting to test how far you can push your plane, but your end score depends on the distance you cover. High scores are earned by flying over long distances and landing on a decent multiplier.
With every round, the game shows your last best distance. As a result, this will keep you coming back for more to break your previous best. In the process, you will earn plenty of coins to make regular upgrades and occasionally unlock new planes and skins.
