Multifaceted Adventure Game
Rogue Land is a casual RPG with action-adventure and arcade elements. In the game, you control a miniature hero traveling through a 3D cartoon-like open-world while slaying monstrosities. The goal is to fight your way to the source of an ancient evil that is causing monsters to stream into the game’s world.
There are several play options in Rogue Land, including side quests, events, and daily quests. However, the game’s main content is a series of levels that you must progress through to get to the end of your adventure.
Levels increase in difficulty and length as you progress. They play out in differently-themed environments and consist of open areas with monsters, a sequence of arena battles, and boss fights. You earn gold and gems after each completed level. Completing levels will also see you unlock new heroes, equipment, and gear such as gloves of haste and boots of vitality.
Easy One-Finger Control
In Rogue Land, you have two tasks: 1) kill all monsters and 2) collect treasure. For the latter task, the game throws in treasure chests that you must walk towards to open.
As for slaying monsters, you can choose to fight with a sword, staff, crossbow, or bombs. There are pros and cons to each weapon, so you will have to test each one to find what suits your fighting style.
The beauty of this game is that you can carry out both actions simultaneously, thanks to the intuitive controls. The game has a solo directional control that you will use to move around and initiate attacks. You drag and hold the button in the direction you want to move and then stop to attack when you encounter enemies.
Multiple Skills to Stack Up On
In Rogue Land, you can use skills to boost your performance. And the best part is that you get the freedom to pick whatever skill you want. Options range from Ricochet skill, where shots ricochet to other enemies, to First Aid skill, which delivers 100% more health every time you heal.
You gain skills by defeating the enemy. Every time you kill a monster, blue blobs appear on the ground. Your hero collects the blobs. These then go towards filling a skill bar at the top of the battle screen. Once the bar fills up, a skill popup appears, giving you the chance to pick a new skill from a choice of 3. It is also possible to buy extra skills using gems.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Rogue Land on PC
• Upgrade your Hero and Equipment
Regular hero and equipment upgrades are essential in this game. They work to boost your power score and also make you more effective in battle. You can spend gold on weapon damage, attack speed, crit chance, range, and knockback upgrades. Your hero can also get HP, speed, and defense stat boosts.
Heroes also level up automatically when they do battle. Therefore, make sure to rotate through your collection of heroes as they become available.
• Collect on all Treasure Chests
While gold is plentiful in this game, it gets depleted quickly. Between upgrading your heroes and equipment, your gold reserves will run low fast. On the other hand, gems can buy you tons of loot but are unfortunately hard to come by. Hence, this is why you must make sure to cash in on every treasure chest. Treasure chests contain large amounts of gold, gems, and sometimes skills.
The good thing about this game is that you can easily open treasure chests (or kill monsters) and be on your way. Gold, gems, and all your other winnings will draw towards you like metal to a magnet.
• Participate in Quests and Events
Whether in the form of gold, gems, skills, or equipment, quest and event rewards are far better than what you get from completing levels. Events are usually timed and vary to include one-day affairs, weekly events, and occasional mini-campaigns. Quests, on the other hand, refresh daily. Both Quest/World and Event buttons are at the bottom of the game’s home page.
• Select the Right Skill for the Situation
While the levels in Rogue Land keep changing, it is easy to guess what comes next. Low-tier monsters live in open environments, while battle arenas and boss grounds have a gate or the symbol of a skeleton. Keep this in mind when selecting a skill. It will help you go for the abilities that put you at a better advantage for what is coming next.
For instance, Multishot is a skill that allows you to gain an additional shot for each one that you fire. As such, it would make a good choice for when you are about to face multiple opponents in a battle arena. Alternatively, Crit Master and Health Boost skills would be ideal in boss fights. The former skill increases your chances for a critical hit, while the latter heals you and increases your maximum health.
