Linear Dungeon Crawler with IDLE Gameplay
If you are an avid fan of dungeon crawler games, then IDLE Death Knight by NEOWIZ will be right up your alley. In this adventure, you play as a skeleton warrior who runs through a linear dungeon slaying monsters and other strange evil creatures. Also known as the Death Knight, your character leads the charge and can have companions to assist in battle.
As you slay monsters, they drop coins and batteries. Upon completion of quests, you will be able to collect other resources like relics, boxes, equipment draw tickets, and gems, to name just a few.
The best part, though, about this game is that it has automated gameplay. In other words, you will automatically loot and farm for resources without having to click or tap controls all the time. With no need to worry about the fighting, you only focus on making strategic upgrades that make your Death Knight the most lethal warrior in this evil realm.
Also, being an idle game, your Death Knight keeps fighting even after you exit the game. So, once you log back in, you will find coins and other resources have accumulated even more because of offline earnings.
Progressive Character Upgrades
Your progress in IDLE Death Knight hinges on continually upgrading and equipping the skeleton warrior to gain more power. One way of doing this is with costumes.
Throw on a cape, and your Death Knight will look like a monster-slaying grim reaper. However, the costumes are not just cosmetic. They also come with effects. For example, a particular outfit could increase the number of batteries collected from slain monsters to a higher percentage. Costumes require upgrading as well, which involves spending of amethyst (i.e., purple gems).
You can also level up your character in the game. Doing so will increase stats like HP, attack & movement speed, as well as critical damage. You have the choice to upgrade your Death Knight one, ten, or a hundred levels up at once. The higher the level boost, the more coins you need.
Alternatively, if you use gems, you can upgrade a specific skill.
Furthermore, there are portraits (headgear), armor, and weapons to collect and equip your Death Knight for battle.
The more you upgrade your character, the more currency/loot the monsters drop upon defeat. That’s the incremental element of this game.
Gacha Weapon Draws
Unlike other dungeon crawlers that offer up weapons as part of the reward system, IDLE Death Knight is a bit different. The game has a gacha system for acquiring weapons. So, what you pull from the draw is random.
To get x number of draws for random fighting gear, you use purple gems and tickets in the equipment store. You also receive upgrade stones (the green gems) as a reward after weapon draws, which later on help to improve your tools.
Besides acquiring weapons, you also have the choice to combine or dismantle them. The former option creates a fusion of something powerful while the latter allows you to get rid of dispensable gear in exchange for resources.
Tips & Tricks for Playing IDLE Death Knight on PC
• Focus on Weapon Draws Early On
For a newly created account, a smart strategy is to prioritize resources toward getting more weapons rather than other upgrades. With this approach, you will be able to get an SS weapon early in the game. From there, you can upgrade it to take advantage of an exclusive CRIT damage bonus.
It will be easy to defeat monsters and bosses with a powerful SS weapon with just a few strikes. However, you also have to keep leveling it up. For that, you must use upgrade stones acquired from weapon draws in the equipment shop or through idle rewards and stage completions.
• Go For Multi Weapon Draws
When it comes to getting fighting gear in IDLE Death Knight, you will have three options. The first one is to draw one random weapon from the gacha, but this is more of a waste. Instead, it is best to do either the x10 or x30 weapon draw because they give you one and three extra weapons, respectively. Those bonus weapons might just as well be the coveted SS variety that every player should be looking to acquire.
• Claim Your Rewards
Another great feature in IDLE Death Knight is that there are plenty of free rewards to claim. For starters, make sure to claim the attendance rewards, which run for 30 days. You only need to log in and take the day’s free prize. It could be gems, crates, relics, and so much more.
You can also complete the objectives in daily missions to get more gems. Additionally, keep checking the achievements tab to claim more goodies that reward you based on your progress in the game.
Don’t forget to check out the event shop too. You can find three free packages here that can contain amethyst, upgrade stones, and ultra batteries. One is available for claiming once a day while the other two replenish weekly and monthly after claiming the goods.
• Play the Non-Secrete Cow Dungeon with Your Best Weapon
Lastly, play the non-secrete cow quest every chance you get. In this dungeon, you collect double rewards. The goal here is to defeat the cow kings as many times as possible. They keep spawning after dying. Therefore, the more of them you defeat, the higher your rewards.
The best strategy is to go into this challenge with your best gear because the cow king dungeon quests are time-limited. A powerful weapon will dispatch the enemy quickly, allowing you to defeat the cow king more times before the clock runs out. As a result, you get to maximize your rewards in the process.
Quests here reward you with milk, upgrade stones, and more resources that are essential for character upgrades as well as evolving to higher ranks/tiers.
