Download and Play “Identity V” on Your Favorite PC (Windows) or Mac for Free
Hunt or be Hunted
For those who like creepy, mysterious yet fun and adventurous games, Identity V for PC and mobile delivers just that in an asymmetrical multiplayer virtual world. This horror-inspired game is pretty much like hide & seek only that the players involved will either be prey or hunt for captives.
The actual game allows you to enter match mode as either a hunter or survivor. Four survivors enter into the dungeon where they remain trapped and must escape a ruthless hunter. The only way out is to locate multiple typewriter-like cipher machines located at various points on the map and decode passwords that will open exit gates. Survivors stumble upon chests containing items that can help with the escape while trying to avoid the hunter at the same time.
If you are playing the role of a hunter, your goal is to find, attack, capture and eject survivors from the game. The hunter relentlessly searches the arena for survivors and must take any captives back to the rocket chair to blast them out of the game.
Whether playing as a survivor or hunter, winning each match earns you Persona points. You can then use your points to unlock characters, costumes, and other accessories.
Compelling Story-Based Premise
One of the intriguing aspects about Identity V is its engaging introduction that piques the interest of curious players and gets them hooked into the game. Once you install Identity V for PC, the game loads a story where you start as a detective who is looking into the disappearance of a little girl in an old, creepy, Victorian-style manor. The investigations take you on a journey that uncovers the mansion’s grizzly history. As you wander about following the clues and complete introductory objectives, the game eventually takes you to an interactive menu. The menu area is essentially a large room, where you must walk over to various stations to join in on the multiplayer matches, enter the in-game store, or personalize your characters. Although the introductory premise is not what the game is about, it gives you a good idea of what the setting will be like.
Spooky & Horrifying In-Game Art
If you have ever played Death by Daylight, Identity V offers a very similar experience. Despite the reduction in violent gameplay, you still get to enjoy the same hunter-prey game plot in a creepy setting.
Taking on the look of life-sized dolls with button-like eyes, the survivors’ gothic appearance is inspired by Tim Burton’s 2009 horror-fantasy-film, Coraline. In contrast, the hunters are big, brute, menacing characters who you would think are capable of tearing the small, scrawny survivors to shreds. This in-art style suits the horror-themed concept of Identity V perfectly.
Tips and Tricks for Playing Identity V
Whether you choose to play Identity V for PC or on your mobile device, skills you need to learn plenty of skills in order to have better odds of winning. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you get started.
• Outmaneuver the Hunter to Escape Capture
If you find yourself in trouble, you can knock over pallets to block the path, stunt the hunter with a flare gun or flashlight, and jump over ledges the hunter cannot. Inject yourself with some tranquilizer to calm down your nerves if you are lucky to evade capture. When playing as the Doctor character, you can also inject another survivor with the syringe to heal injuries sustained during a chase.
• Listen Carefully to Sounds While Playing
The music in Identity V creates a charged atmosphere that will certainly give you an adrenaline rush. However, you should also pay close attention to sounds in the game that serve as audio cues. For instance, some survivors might make mistakes when trying to decode a cipher machine, triggering a loud noise that will guide you to their location. There is also a listening ability for hunters to use as a match starts, which can provide an early lead on who to go after first. In addition, listen carefully to an audio cue while trying to decode the cipher machines when playing as a survivor. The sound lets you know that a calibration meter is about to pop-up and you must stop a needle in the indicated zone to avoid alerting the hunter.
• Strike Terror Shocks to Help You Subdue Survivors
As a hunter, you might capture survivors in the middle of an activity like decoding the cipher machine, trying to free a teammate from the rocket chair, healing another survivor or climbing down a window. In such instances, make use of your Terror Shock blow to incapacitate survivors. You can even pick a hiding spot near areas where survivors might pass by and have an easier time to strike an attack.
• Equip Your Characters with Talents
Once you unlock the Persona Web, you will be able to equip survivors with talents such as Bravery, Persistence, Friendship, or Tranquility. You can also equip your Hunters with traits such as Vigilance, Toughness, Deterrence, and Deceit. Switching up talents on the Persona Web is free and can be done at any time but make sure to choose skills that fit the character you are playing as in the game.
• Know Your Character’s Abilities and Traits
There are different characters to choose from when playing as either a hunter or survivor. Each character has unique abilities and maneuvers. Make sure to read the online tutorials of Identity V to know what various characters are capable of and gain a competitive edge when you play.
