Webcomic Crossover RPG
HeroCantare with WEBTOON is a unique game in its own right. It brings together superheroes from three webcomic series in a crossover RPG that is reeling in plenty of fans. The Tower of God, Hardcore Leveling Warrior, and The God of High School merge their efforts to save the world of Tetra and bring peace upon it. When you start playing, this trio will work together to keep the Tristan Cube that acts as a portal between dimensions from getting into the wrong hands.
The story of this game is, no doubt, immersive. It also plays out like a comic book. However, other features like the cute hand-drawn characters, visually impressive animations, and upbeat music offer a treat to players.
Although you can get the default mobile game of Hero Cantare with WEBTOON, installing it on PC can be just as fun if not better, especially if you have a powerful gaming rig. Read on to learn more about the game mechanics and other features.
Turn-Based Block Combat Mechanics
When it comes to the main action, Hero Cantare with WEBTOON treats players to turn-based battle quests where three heroes take on enemy pacts. As you would expect, the two teams take turns to make an offensive or defensive move. Your goal is to crush the opposing side by bringing their HP to zero to eliminate every last one of them.
One thing that makes Hero Cantare with WEBTOON stand out is its block combat system. It doesn’t have the usual button commands and cooldown skills that you find in other turn-based combat games. Instead, you unleash moves using blocks that have a portrait of the characters.
The mechanics are very similar to the system in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, except that cards, in this case, are blocks, and you initiate the merge to level-up skills.
Speaking of ability fusion, this is the other dimension in Hero Cantare that provides players with plenty of room to strategize. It works with a simple concept whereby every character can have three skill levels.
During a battle, you will have multiple character blocks in hand. Pulling them onto the battle slots will allow the corresponding hero to strike when fighting resumes. However, it is possible to drag identical pieces on top of each other to level up the skill before you can use it. Stacking the blocks is also a process that uses up mana points (MP).
Merging two similar pieces creates a level-2 skill, and you consume 1MP. On the other hand, adding another single block to the stack generates the level-3 ability, using up three mana points in the process.
Mana management is part of the game because you have a limited supply that keeps replenishing with every turn.
Gacha Hero Building
To maintain order in Tetra, the main legends in this game will need some help. There are over 60 characters from the three webtoon series that you can acquire. Each time, you perform a random pull by rolling the gacha. So, there is no telling what you might get when summoning heroes across the dimensions.
The characters not only have unique fighting styles but also come in various rarities, starting from the common A-rank to the super rare SS-tier. What’s more, there is an option to equip your fighters with relics and gain an advantage over opponents during battle.
The wide range of characters in Hero Cantare is what will keep you coming back for more. To summon heroes, it will cost you dimension essence (DE). You acquire this essential resource in a variety of ways. For instance, finishing the tutorial rewards you with 60-DE, and this is enough to roll the gacha a dozen times. You can get more dimension essence from the portal shop by spending gems or when you complete new levels for the first time.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Hero Cantare with WEBTOON™ on PC
Reroll the Gacha
A general rule of thumb when it comes to gacha games is to start strong. One way to do this in Hero Cantare is by rerolling until you get the character ranks you want.
The tutorial takes you through three stages, after which you will get a free chance to perform your first summon. The results are purely random. So, if you don’t like the starting lineup the ‘gacha gods’ reward you with, then you can try your luck again. However, you have to reset your data from the game’s account settings. Although starting over can be tedious, the silver lining is that you have the option to skip all the cutscenes. Consequently, it will take about 5 minutes to finish the tutorial stages after which you can reroll the gacha again.
Speed up with Story Mode Levels
Besides the storyline quests, there are other game modes in Hero Cantare. For instance, you can look forward to playing the Dimension Gap, Hero Dungeon, Trial Tower, Dimension Crack, Advent Boss, and PvP Arena. Keep in mind, though, that you have to clear certain levels in story missions to unlock the new features. A smart strategy is to complete as many quests the main campaign as possible until you hit a brick wall. At that point, you can switch to playing any other the other game modes. As a result, you will continue gathering resources for upgrading your team to make it strong enough to fight the increasingly tough enemies.
Upgrade & Level Up Heroes
In Hero Cantare, there are several ways to improve your heroes to their strength. Firstly, make sure to upgrade characters using the gold and EXP materials that you acquire from completed quests. You get to increase stats such as ATK, DEF, HP, and Speed with this simple move. Secondly, take time to obtain relics from the Awakening Tree. Ideally, you should equip your best fighters with weapons. Thirdly, you can use memory stones to upgrade the star level of your units.
Claim Your AFK Rewards
Another great feature in Hero Cantare with WEBTOON is the AFK grinding system. In other words, your heroes will keep fighting even when you are not actively participating in quests. Your characters can grind for up to 24hours while you are offline. After this period is over, you have to collect your loot so that AFK grinding can resume. Therefore, make sure to check in at least once a day.
