Tips and Tricks for Playing Garena Speed Drifters on PC
• Drift on Turns
Drifting is one of the easiest maneuver you will get a chance to pull off quite often while racint. It gives your car a brief speed boost and quickly refills the nitro gauge. To perform this move, hold down the drift button briefly while using the navigation controls when driving around turns. If you hold down the drift button for too long, the car can steer off course. How long to hold down the drift button depends on the angle of each turn. Remember, practice makes perfect. The best way to master drifting is by completing as many races as you can.
• Keep an Eye Out for Turn Signs
When approaching corners, you will see black and yellow arrows pointing towards the direction you should drive. Keep your eyes peeled for these turn signals. Doing so will prepare you for drifting. This also makes driving around bends easier since you will avoid any surprises that might cause you to drive off the road and crash into the track sides.
• Capitalize on Item Mode Props
The props in item mode are awesome if you know how and when to use them. For example, you can thrust a tow magnet, summon a UFO or strike opponents ahead of you with lightning to decelerate their cars. Alternatively, drop a banana peel or leave a cloud of smog behind you to extend your lead. Props such as shield and angel will also come in handy if you want to protect yourself and teammates from attacks. Make sure to learn about all the props you can use in item mode to gain an advantage in races.
• Use Ramps, Speed Lanes & Shortcuts
Even if you are not playing item mode, you can find other boosts to use while racing. For example, flying over ramps that appear on some tracks will give your car a short speed boost. There are also speed lanes that work in the same way as the nitro boost. Be on the lookout for shortcuts as well. These alternative routes mostly appear on sharp bends and can help you catch up or extend your lead.
