If you are a fan of games that leave you stranded in a remote location to fend for yourself, then make sure to try FAU-G: Fearless and United Guards. It is a survival adventure action RPG from Studio nCore that will keep you entertained for hours on end.
Your adventure starts in a dangerous and deserted area where zombies lurk around. With nothing but underwear on, you have to get everything you need for survival out there from mother nature. Luckily, the location you find yourself seems like a previous settlement, but it is in ruins. As a result, you need to build up a shelter for defense and scavenge for whatever you find useful to keep you alive and safe.
Gather, Craft, Survive
For the most part, you will be exploring your surroundings and collecting materials to craft food, clothing, weapons, and equipment. Items like grass, stone, wild berries, pine branches, pumpkin seed, to name just a few, will be among the materials you will find in your surroundings.
Everything you gather goes into the bag and your survivor’s pockets. You can even craft boxes for more storage.
As you carry out activities, your survivor will level-up. Some areas on the map are crawling with zombies, so be prepared to fight for your survival. The walking-dead attack on instinct, and they are out for blood. Watch out for the barters that not only come wielding a stick but also chase their targets relentlessly.
A Tribute to the Troops
Studio nCore created this game as a tribute to the heroes of India’s national armed forces. Though fashioned as a survival adventure RPG, you will fill the shoes of a patriotic soldier and get the virtual experience of commandos patrolling a dangerous border territory.
The game developers state that FAU-G is based on real-world scenarios, which may be referring to the Sino-Indian border dispute.
Players can expect to explore unforgiving terrain and experience the sacrifice, bravery, and brotherhood of fearless united guards trying to not only survive but also protect a nation’s pride and sovereignty.
Tips & Tricks for Playing FAU-G: Fearless and United Guards on PC
• Complete Your Guide Book Missions
The guide book lists tasks that you need to prioritize. It is on the top left corner of your screen, just below the avatars for your pet dog and survivor. Make sure to carry out the missions listed there first. Doing so will earn you rewards, and you also get to move through the game’s story quickly.
• Mine Ores to Collect Stone Quickly
Sometimes, you may need to craft something that uses stones. Running around to collect one at a time can be a drag. A faster way is to get stones quickly is by mining rock ores. Keep in mind though you will need to craft a stone axe for this, which requires materials such as wood and a few stones.
• Gather 3-Pine at Once
Pine branches will come in handy when building the shelter walls and crafting many other tools. Instead of collecting one at a time, you can get up to three all at once by chopping down trees. First, though, you have to craft a stone ax for that.
• Use the Mini-Map
The mini-map found at the top right corner of your screen provides useful information about your surroundings. You can use it to spot zombies, which appear with red indicators. Judging by the number of hostiles in a particular area, the map will help you decide whether to retreat or fight. Also, if you want to go hunting for forest deer, your prey will appear as orange marks.
• Stay Hydrated & Energetic
As you engage in various activities, your survivor’s level of hydration and energy deplete naturally. It is essential to stay hydrated and keep your strength up. You can track both of these stats by looking at their corresponding icons just below the mini-map. Eating berries and other types of food will increase your water and energy levels.
• Revive Your Survivor
If you lose a zombie fight, you can spend mission-credits to revive your survivor. There are a couple of advantages to taking up this option. Firstly, you continue from the current scene. Secondly, your survivor keeps all items and equipment instead of starting from scratch.
