Massive War Strategy Game
Epic War: Thrones is a strategy game in which you take on the role of a Lord/Emperor and lead your troops to battle. As the ultimate commander, your main goal is to conquer the massive 3D world. It spreads over a whopping 4 million square kilometers, offering an open sandbox experience full of new areas to explore.
You will get to recruit generals, form alliances, and move through fantasy lands, all while destroying enemies and claiming their territories. It will take strategic thinking on the battleground and a high level of leadership behind the scenes for you to rise to the highest echelons of military might and become ruler over the chaotic world of Epic War: Thrones.
True to its name, this game delivers an epic experience. The developers utilized the unreal engine 4 to create stunning visuals. This technology is responsible for the breathtaking landscapes, life-like animations, spectacular war effects, ingenious battle simulations, and fluid movements of massive troops that you will come to enjoy.
3-Person Battle Units
In Epic War: Thrones, you go to war with a legion of troops and face an equally massive enemy battalion. While in the heat of battle, hand-to-hand combat takes place among troops. Arrows also fly on both sides. Additionally, all manner of colorful skills (including lightning and thunder attacks) get exchanged.
The game throws in fun voiceovers that add more excitement to battles. They are random but usually go with what is happening or feature little bits of war advice.
Despite the massive troops you have at your disposal, battles will only be between your hand-picked units and a similar-sized enemy squad. Before heading to the battlefield, you set up a 3-person battle party featuring a commander and two officers. You can arrange your units as you please over a formation grid featuring three slots at the front and a similar number at the back.
The chosen units then set up their respective positions at the front of the battlefield, with a troop of soldiers directly behind. Battles last for about 90-seconds. The first unit to annihilate the other side’s commander wins.
Kingdom Power is Dependent on Resources
Epic War: Thrones is not just about conquering enemy territories. You will also be establishing a kingdom. It will have a palace with a warehouse, barracks, farm, quarry, foundry, and plenty of other areas and systems.
Upgrading different areas in the kingdom is equivalent to fortification. Consequently, this makes it difficult for the enemy to raid your home. These areas are teeming with vital resources like beads, food, wood, iron, etc. However, you have to farm for supplies and manage them carefully. The resources will sustain your ever-growing troop and general numbers.
You can always take on tasks and quests to get extra copper and other rewards to boost resource production. What goes on with your resource development is detrimental to troop growth, general prowess, and battle success. Generally, the more you play, the more you uncover how the many facets of the resource system work. For instance, upgrading prestige leads to you earning more rewards.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Epic War: Thrones on PC
• End Battles Quickly
Battles happen really quickly in this game. So, slacking off can get your commander killed first, resulting in a loss. One thing to note is that your battle unit members (also referred to as generals) will make a direct bee-line for their mirror opponents on the other side. So, this leaves you with several possible strategic moves that can lead to a swift battle. For one, you can opt to deploy your best player against the opposing commander.
Another option is to set two of your generals against the opponent’s commander. Also, never leave your commander alone and exposed at the front, as this will obviously lead to an unsatisfactory outcome.
• Take Advantage of the Weather System

For example, when it is raining, water and thunder damage increase while fire damage decreases. Therefore, this is something you should keep in mind when choosing your unit. Make it a point to go with generals whose skills get enhanced by the particular weather. Unit effects are viewable while switching through formations. As a result, this makes it possible to pull off sure-fire moves such as focusing fire on the rival general during clear weather.
• Dispatch Generals to Conquer Unoccupied Territories

This move comes with no risks because your general will single-handedly beat down any soldier they find. Furthermore, a general disappointingly returns to base after failing to strike a bountiful region. The gains, however, are immense. Besides striking resource goldmines, a general improves rankings every time after deployment. There is literally a whole expanse of uninhabited land filled with untapped resources right outside your base’s walls. You can occupy the area one small grid at a time.
• Check Enemy Formation
Lastly, it is essential to note that a bad formation in this game can fate you to a loss. Luckily, you have a chance to re-position your generals before hitting the start button. Take a moment to study the placement of enemy units and adjust your formations accordingly to increase the chances of success. It is also possible to peek in on the enemy’s formation and the number of troops when picking out a map region to conquer.
