Funny Treasure Hunt Puzzle Game
With Diamond Quest: Don’t Rush for PC and mobile, you are in for a barrel of laughs. You play as a tiny but fearless explorer who sets out to collect precious jewels. In a sense, the gameplay is quite similar to Mario games but with a charm of its own. The journey will take you deep into the jungles of Angkor Wat temple, the dungeons of Bavaria castle, and the icy Tibet caves. What’s more, you will find gems and treasure chests as well as face a ton of danger and obstacles in all of these locations. However, your character approaches his quest with cute determination and overall happy demeanor that is a laugh to watch.
Play through tons of Varying Challenges
Play in Diamond Quest: Don’t Rush is presented through puzzles that change with every stage. For the most part, you will be scaling from one platform to another. It is not as easy as it sounds because there are obstacles to avoid. That includes cutting through leaves, breaking cobwebs, and avoiding boulders to get to the gems. However, the layout of the puzzles changes with each quest, giving you newer and more exciting areas to scale.
You will also come across different traps and obstacles. For example, you must watch out for snakes, turtles, monkeys, bombs, etc. Sometimes, it is even necessary to dive into the water to make it to the next quest.
On the other hand, there are big bosses to worry about. Taking them down is the most challenging part because they are formidable opponents. These monsters appear at the end of each stage. It will take a combination of quick, agile moves and forethought to defeat each boss and escape into the next puzzle.
Easy to Learn Controls
Although Diamond Quest: Don’t Rush includes a tutorial at the beginning, the game is pretty self-explanatory. You will need to move forward, up, down, and backwards to get the jewels. For this, the game features four directional buttons (up, down, back, & forward) at the bottom center of the screen. The control buttons make it possible to dash or take a single step in all four directions.
Next to these buttons, there is also a ‘Re-spawn’ control. It allows you to return to the nearest checkpoint (represented by a blue bubble) when you trap yourself behind a boulder.
Also featured are ‘pause’ and ‘settings’ buttons that give access to a variety of functions, including a map, shop, and even a camp where you get food cooking.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Diamond Quest: Don’t Rush! On PC
Get to all the Chests
The goal of play in Diamond Quest: Don’t Rush is to collect several gems. The amount of treasure you need to collect will usually be indicated for every level. Once you do that, this will unlock the exit leading to the next stage.
Hitting the required target is quite simple since every level has a ton more gems that what you need to collect. So, what you should focus on is getting to the chests. They contain all manner of treasures, including food, red gems, keys, and even a compass that will point you towards the exit. Crates are strewn all over the place. Therefore, take the time to explore every corner to get to every last one.
Find Mystic Tools
Another thing to hunt for in this game is mystic tools, which appear in later levels of play. Featuring items such as Mystic Hammer, Mystic Hook, and Freeze Hammer, these tools are great for getting through otherwise impassible areas. Mystic tools are also useful for avoiding or destroying traps.
Do not Rush
As the name of the game advises, do not rush through play because moving full steam ahead to get to the gems can get you trapped, forcing you to use precious energy points to re-spawn. Other times, you may end up crushed by a boulder or bitten by an animal, both of which drain a chunk of your energy. As a result, this game requires you to calculate your every move and watch your surroundings. Wait for the snake to slither away, crouch under the dragon’s line of fire, hold on for boulders to fall before proceeding, and so on.
Slowing down also gives you a chance to study the terrain and identify a path that gets you to the end with the most energy points and treasure.
Keep your Energy up
Energy (represented by a green bar at the bottom the game’s puzzle) makes up your lifeline in this game. It is important to conserve it because once your energy runs out, you will not be able to continue playing. But, the good news is that keeping your energy up is easy. Just grab some food from the game’s shop to get an instant energy boost whenever you are running low.
