Survive in a Mysterious Wasteland
From the ever-present ring of danger in the air to the thrill of hacking through monsters to the sense of pride that comes from growing from a rookie to a veteran survivor, Craft of Survival – Immortal delivers fun, adventure, and a sense of accomplishment. Featuring a set-up and objective that is all too familiar, this game shoves you into a dark, hostile wasteland, where you will have to hack, craft, and build your way to survival.
The game plot is shrouded in mystery for that extra sense of excitement and uniqueness. Everything takes place in Aeron, a fantasy world shattered by an enigmatic rift. As a result, this left the once-prosperous empire in ruins. Now it is teeming with zombies, ruthless bandits, and ravenous monsters.
Why the departed are rising from their graves and how you still have your faculties intact despite being one of the living dead are some of the mysteries you will get to uncover.
Craft of Survival – Immortal lets you enjoy the journey as a hero of your own creation. The game gives you the choice of adjusting the gender, race, appearance, and starting skill of your character to your liking.
It doesn’t end there. You choose the race you would prefer. Will it be a Human, Dark Elf- Half-Orc, or High-Elf? There are also starting skills that fall under Barbarian, Conjurer, Stoic, and Knight categories.
Dynamic Mission-Based Storyline
Although this is a survival game, it does not leave you to your own devices. A mysterious lady (later identified as Izun Daereni, an academy mage, and your partner) serves as your guide right from the start. She provides you with survival tips, sends you out on missions, and helps you unearth hidden secrets in Aeron.
The game itself unfolds over a series of tasks. You are free to go on exploration and resource-gathering runs. However, you must return and clear quests to make progress.
Playing through the tasks is how you get to level up, earn XP & other vital resources (crystals, potions, rings, etc.), and uncover pieces of the game’s puzzle.
Game tasks also provide the occasional set of choices. The decisions you make chart the path that you will end up following.
For example, while on one of your missions, you will find yourself facing the options of taking revenge on a wounded bandit, leaving him to bleed out, or offering a bandage. Opting for the latter will earn you 10-crystals from the grateful bandit and a possible future ally.
Crafting and Building
Making things from scratch is one of the central features in Craft of Survival – Immortal. You will need to build a haven that you can retire to in the night. It will also double up as the place where you craft weapons, clothing, and tools vital for your survival.
The crafting system is simple. You collect items and combine them to create all manner of things. These range from a bed to a farm plot, water well, axes, swords, and even fried meals.
Also easy to navigate, the craft feature divides into categories of Survival, Weapons, Armor, Tools, Buildings, and Decorations. Each section displays a range of craftable items and the materials you require to create them.
For the building part of the game, you start with a small hut and gradually establish a village complete with multiple structures, including Carpenter, Weaver, Smelting, Stonemason, and Leather workshops. As you construct and upgrade buildings, you will gain prestige points that open up more options for upgrades.
You can also recruit allies and settle them in your village. They come in the form of wise mages, cunning inventors, and skilled war heroes.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Craft of Survival – Immortal on PC
• Gather Everything in Sight
Pretty much everything you need to survive in Craft of Survival – Immortal can be found in the game environments. You can chance upon all manner of goodies, including food, weapons, gear, and waterskins, by simply stopping to loot the enemies you kill. The surroundings are also replete with collectibles, including stones, logs, plants, iron bars, mushrooms, and clothing pieces.
Since you can never know what you will need to craft items, it is best to have a stock of everything. For example, a combination of a soft cloth and sun leaf creates a bandage, while it takes a few logs and stones to form a stone axe.
You can always discard unnecessary items. There is also an option to expand your inventory (by crafting a better bag) to make room for more survival paraphernalia.
The great thing about this game is that you will not have to turn every stone looking for items. Watch out for the shiny circle, which appears over things worth collecting.
• Go for Daily Quests and Events
Completing tasks allows you to progress at a good pace. However, if you want to get to the good stuff, you want to level up as fast as possible. The crafting, building, and battle options open up more in the higher levels.
Taking on daily quests and events will give you that extra boost to get through the game faster. The bonus rewards you earn along the way will also put you at a high advantage in the game.
• Use your Fighting Skills Effectively
In Craft of Survival – Immortal combat wins are all about proper timing and applying the right strategy. Fighting skills unlock one at a time. They feature an array of actions, including the option of sneaking up on an enemy to gain the element of surprise.
Get into the habit of gauging the strength of your enemy. It will help you use appropriate attacks because the controls have a short re-roll time between uses.
For instance, there is no need to waste your most damage-dealing attacks on a pack of wolves. Instead, save your ultimate skills for dungeon battles, boss levels, and PvP arenas. You will still get your XP points whether you take out an enemy in style or stick to your sword during a fight.
• Balance Stat Upgrades
Besides skills, your character’s Strength, Dexterity, Stamina, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma stats come into play during fights. Several benefits come with upgrading these attributes. For starters, you will be able to take more of a beating. Secondly, your character will move faster and deal more damage. More importantly, you will adapt to enemy attack patterns much more quickly.
Given that each attribute serves an important role, it is best to maintain consistency when making upgrades. Every time your character levels up, you get points that you can use to upgrade your stats. Disperse them evenly by upgrading your stats one point at a time.
Having equipment such as rings increases the stats, whereas crystals can buy you more points to level up.
