Keep the Peace
Blue Archive is a combat role-playing game with numerous characters. It takes place in the fictional world of Kivotos, where you get appointed as an advisor to the Federal Investigation Club. Your role is to resolve the many incidents happening in the game world by taking on the trouble makers in team battles.
The story starts with the student president in your academy missing. Chaos and havoc are the order of the day. As a result, the General Student Council has hired you to help them bring back law and order.
You will be the only adult in a city full of kids, and you have to access things and see which way is right to bring about peace. When necessary, you will lead a formation of students to battle against the undisciplined trouble makers.
The main task is to stop the unruly from destroying property in the academy city. Eventually, things will go back to normal, and the kids will be able to resume their studies.
When you are going into battle in Blue Archive, you will need a team of fighters. Using their special guns and other weapons that projects bursts of energy, the heroes run in a linear arena taking on waves of enemies.
Each battle has a boss and his minions. You will require a team of strikers and assistants. One formation can have four strikers and two special supports.
The heroes move and duck behind objects to take cover automatically, so you only get to focus on casting their skills. Additionally, it is up to you to combine the best team for combat.
The heroes have an ex, basic, enhanced, and sub skill to use against enemies. What’s more, each hero has an Ultimate ability that deals high damage and unfolds with flashy animation effects and a cut scene.
As the characters take damage, their HP reduces. If the green health bar above their heads completely diminishes, the affected hero dies and leaves the battle arena on a chopper ladder. The remaining ones who are alive will continue the battle one teammate down until they beat all the enemies.
Various Game Modes
The Blue Archive game has many game modes you can play. To begin with, there is the Mission section. This is where you find the main campaign mode with battle quests that involve trying to defeat all enemies within the allotted time.
The Story mode takes you through isolated character plots. As a result, you will not use your chosen characters from the roster in this mode. Instead, you get to use the heroes who are tied to the story.
Bounty is a daily resource grind where you need a set amount of tickets to take part in quests. It takes you go to different locations to get materials for leveling up skills and finding general growth resources.
Next, you have the Commissions mode where you get to farm for EXP and credits. Later on, you will unlock the Tactical Assault and Tactical Challenge modes to explore even more game content.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Blue Archive on PC
• Forfeit Tough Rounds
If notice that your characters are losing, you can withdraw them and forfeit the round. Although this leads to a loss, you get a partial refund of supplies used in the battle.
When you back out of a fight, make sure to grind for more loot playing other easier game modes or level up your girls to prepare them for the tough round you forfeited.
• Make Upgrades
There are many upgrades to make in the game. You can level up your characters, and even their weapons. Your characters will be more formidable in battle as you upgrade them in the game because this boosts attributes such as attack speed, critical hit, damage, and so forth.
Upgrades are essential because you will only be able to play some missions and unlock more features when you are at certain level. Therefore, level up as much as possible to get ahead.
• Heal Your Allies
Going through the battle rounds one man down can be quite disadvantageous, considering that the combat format in Blue Archive consists of fighting successive waves of enemies. If you notice the health of one of your characters is getting dangerously low, make sure to heal them to get it back up.
The last thing you want to happen during battle is losing an ally because once one of your heroes dies, they are out. As a result, timely healing can keep everyone in the fight up until the end. Remember, there is strength in numbers.
• Play the Game Manually
In the early stages, you can enjoy a pretty much-hands free experience playing battles on auto. But, right around the 3rd or 4th chapters, the AI will be no good. It won’t line up your abilities to take out the bigger enemy threats quickly before they deal lots of damage. So, if you don’t want to be losing some of your heroes during battle, you should take over and play the game manually, especially in the latter stages where the battles get tougher.
• Join a Guild
In the Blue Archive game, you can join a guild. On the other hand, you can create your own and invite others to join you. When part of an alliance, you can help each other fight and defeat enemies. Share the spoils of battle and ideas with allies.
• Take Rests
Finally, resting your characters is part of the gameplay that this RPG has to offer. Your heroes can go and take a nap at the café. In the same place, you will get to meet new students.
Taking a rest will help your characters to recharge. Consequently, they will be able to fight and defeat the enemy in battle.
