Unique Tower Defense Game
Bloons TD Battles 2, the highly anticipated sequel, is now out on both Google Play and the App Store for mobile devices. It is also possible to play it on PC via Steam or with an emulator (as explained below).
If you didn’t get a chance to play the first release, fret not because this guide will walk you through what to expect in terms of gameplay.
Unlike other tower defense games, the second version of Bloons TD Battles stands out thanks to its unique gameplay rules. Usually, a match will involve two players going head-to-head on a symmetrical arena. The battlefield, which divides vertically, consists of paths for balloons to travel along with an entry and exit point.
Both contestants send each other balloons (also known as bloons) in an attempt to have them cross the rival’s exit point. Each time that happens, it results in a deduction of life points.
Each player starts with a total of 150 points. The first contestant to send a flurry of bloons past their rival’s exit point and reduce their life points to 0 wins.
The matches become even more exciting because you can use towers and monkey heroes to destroy enemy bloons.
Multiple Bloon Types
The number of life points that a person loses whenever a balloon reaches their end of the track depends on its color. For instance, the red and blue bloons take one and two points, respectively. They also take the same number of hits as points deducted to destroy when attacked.
Many other bloons will unlock as the match advances to successive rounds. Pink, yellow, green, zebra, ceramic, black, white, rainbow, and so much more, the bloons will keep appearing with increased layering or difficulty in destruction. Some even pop child balloons, thus taking more effort to destroy.
Creative Defense Towers
Bloons TD Battles 2 is quite creative when it comes to tower defenses. You will be able to attack enemy bloons with all kinds of weapons.
Have fun popping balloons using darts, thumbtacks, arrows, boomerangs, acids, fire, bombs, laser beams, spiked balls, and so much more. It is up to you to set up defenses strategically along the path.
On the other hand, Heroes are special Monkey characters that you can deploy on the battlefield. They fall under four categories, namely primary, military, magic, and support.
The heroes can learn new skills when you spend XP to upgrade them. However, these abilities become available during battle once you upgrade Monkeys with gold.
Whether you want to deploy a hero or towers in battle, it will cost you in-game currency, which keeps regenerating automatically during matches. As a result, there is a cost-benefit analysis aspect to this game. You can either spend money defending yourself with towers or by sending waves of bloons at the enemy.
Ultimately, each match will keep you on your toes. To keep winning, you must develop an intelligent strategy and be ready to make quick decisions.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Bloons TD Battles 2 on PC
• Focus on XP Growth Early On
In the early stages, winning against players with higher-level towers might seem like an impossible task. However, don’t let this frustrate you. It is normal and there isn’t much you can do about it. Instead, keep playing matches to farm for resources that will help you upgrade your towers. Even if you lose, you still earn XP and gold.
• Use Boosts Effectively
When competing in Bloons TD Battles 2, each player gets two boosting options. Firstly, you can use the Bloon Boost to increase the speed of balloons sent toward the opponent’s end. Second only, the Monkey Boost will speed up the attacking speed of your towers. Both last for a limited time. Although you can use both options three times in a match, timing matters. The boosts will serve you best in the higher rounds when difficult-to-pop bloons unlock.
• Multiply Your Earnings
At the end of each match, a screen pops up asking you to double your rewards. The process just requires you to play a short video ad. Take advantage of it by making sure your Internet connection is turned on for the multiplier to take effect.
• Claim Extra Rewards
Besides the rewards you get from participating in matches, you can also claim more small bonuses. Check for them by visiting the shop after every 6 hours. Remember to collect loot from your chests as well to create room for more.
