One Against Hordes
Rollic Games, the same developer behind the fun hyper-casual game Hit Guys, now have yet another fun addition under their belt called Blob Hero. In this installment, you control a jelly-like warrior and bash your way through hordes of miniature figurines that would like nothing more than to give you a proper beating.
Legions of enemies come charging from every direction.. Your only way to survive is to fight or run. The game lets you unlock skill effects gradually to level the playing field.
Once you destroy a certain number of enemies, you level up, and the game presents a selection of three effects to add to your arsenal. However, you can only pick one, so choose wisely.
Creative Combat Skills
Your Blob hero may be alone and outnumbered, but you will have plenty of skill effects at your disposal. These combat abilities are also quite creative. In fact, they add an element of fun to the game.
For instance, you will be able to shoot bolts forward, use orbs that rotate around the hero, cast lightning strikes, spawn worms, or deploy homing missiles, mines, aerial bombardment, and more.
There are 30 different skills to choose from in the game. Some of them enhance whatever ability you are already using. For example, these include the ability to boost effect radius, projectile count, movement speed, and health regeneration. You can also reduce the damage your Blob is taking and the cool-down period for skills.
Use your smarts to choose skill combinations that will help you overcome impossible odds.
Upgrade Your Blob Hero
The jelly-like character has different stats that you can upgrade with coins. These include health, which will increase how long you stay alive, and damage that will help you defeat boss enemies faster.
Besides the default blue Blob, you can also acquire other kinds that come with different skins. Once you have several of them on your roster, there is also an option to upgrade global HP for the entire team.
The coins required for upgrades come as a reward when you complete chapter battles. You can also spend them on upgrading your offline income.
Tips & Tricks for Playing Blob Hero on PC
• Take Advantage of Video Perks
You will find many offers to stream video ads when playing the game. Usually, doing so unlocks an extra benefit. For example, you can play a video ad to triple your rewards at the end of a chapter, get an additional skill from the chest, or revive your blob warrior after dying before completing the current stage.
There are plenty of other perks to claim by streaming short video ads. Make sure to take advantage of them to have a better fighting chance.
• Pick Skills Wisely
Winning in Blob Hero requires some smart strategy. That is because your selection of skills can either spell doom for you or turn the tide of battle in your favor.
Take a scenario where you have enemies almost completely surrounding your Blob. In such a situation, increasing the movement speed can help you escape death by lynching.
If there is nowhere to run, getting extra protection orbs, making them rotate faster, expanding the effect radius, boosting HP, or reducing the amount of damage you are taking can help you survive.
On the other hand, it will be easier to hit the weak spot of a boss enemy and kill it faster with the blob bolts that shoot forward in a straight line, as opposed to spawning worms in all directions randomly.
• Don’t Stop Moving
If you come across a swarm of enemies during the early levels of a new chapter, it is prudent to run away rather than head straight into the fray. Otherwise, you will have inadequate defenses as enemies surround you from all corners. There are always gaps in the crowd that you can escape through if you keep moving.
The only time you will be able to hold your ground is when you have five spinning orbs or more and increase their speed along with the effect radius. Even then, this would only work with the low-level minions. When facing a boss enemy, you still have to keep moving to avoid their ranged strikes.
• Collect Buff Drops
Another advantage of moving around is that you will run into chests and the red hearts that regenerate your HP. Treasure chests allow you to pick one more skill effect, so do not leave any behind. Keep an eye out for coin drops as well.
